Hello, I'm Josh Simpson. I am a comedian, writer, actor, podcaster, musician and comedy teacher living in Los Angeles. That's probably too many things, but comedy is at the core of everything I do.
I like to make stuff and make stuff up. I make my own videos, I host and perform at my monthly variety show The Woo Hoo on the first Thursday of every month, and I perform and teach long form improv comedy.
I currently write on a half hour comedy called PBC by Floqast Studios. I also play a clumsy doofus named Jamie on the show.
Before that I wrote for Team Coco, Funny or Die, and a bunch of other websites that didn’t pay much. I created the satirical Twitter account @BPGlobalPR in 2010 that satirized BP’s dishonest public relations efforts in the wake of the oil spill in the gulf of Mexico. I used the account to sell oil-smudged “bp cares” t-shirts, and I gave all of the proceeds ($20k) to the Gulf Restoration Network.
I was a staff writer on the talk show “What’s Going On? with Mike Mitchell” that became an FX pilot w/ Will Ferrell and Jennifer Lawrence. I was the head writer for a comedy show about dogs called WUF World News that as actually funny.
I’ve also acted in things like Dave, Reno 911!, CONAN and most famously, a Progressive commercial.
